The Neurology Unit specializes in the assessment and treatment of patients who have suffered a stroke or head injury. Other neurological conditions are also treated.

Our Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists and Physiotherapists work closely together as a team to assess each patient’s problems and to discuss goal setting and treatment plans that will help to guide the patient towards the most normal lifestyle possible.

Each patient is considered to be part of the team and is expected (as far as possible) to actively goal set and participate in his/her own treatment programme.

We use a wide range of approaches in our rehabilitation programmes depending on the requirements of the individual.  This may include hydrotherapy, functional electrical stimulation, group treatments and outings as well as individual exercises, functional training and augmentative alternative communication systems.
