Specialist Upper Limb Evaluation and Treatment intervention Clinic
This is a specialised clinic that focuses on the prevention and treatment of nurologically induced shoulder pain, decreasing neurological impairment and optimisation of functional recovery based on the use of specialised treatment approaches and validated outcome measures.
Assessment
The relevant team will conduct an extensive initial assessment, of the upper limb which includes the use of standardised Outcome Measures to determine the client’s functional ability e.g.:
Wolf Motor Function
MAS/UL
Fugl Meyer
Cybex testing
Hand Dynamometry
Modified Ashworth Scale
General assessment will include a measure of active and passive range of motion, general muscle strength, and pain for both upper extremities.
